On 12 November 2025, the Namibia Biomass Industry Group (N-BiG) hosted an exclusive field excursion for its members, providing a hands-on experience of biochar production at PyroNam and Kohero Biochar.
The visit offered members a close-up view of Namibia’s leading biochar operations, from feedstock handling to kiln processes, and fostered discussions on the country’s emerging biochar carbon credit sector. Participants gained valuable insights into how sustainable bush-to-biochar conversion contributes to rangeland restoration, supports decentralized production models, and unlocks opportunities in carbon removal and the circular economy.
